Jones Lang LaSalle Americans Inc.'s Paul Chandler and Robert VeShancey represented the tenant in the transaction, while John Dettleff of the Tysons Corner office of GVA Advantis represented the property owner Mainland Building LLC, which acquired the property four years ago for approximately $9 million. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed; however, Advantis markets the office and medical space for $22.50 per sf.
Developed in 1989, the Mainland Building occupies a two-acre parcel off Interstate 66 near George Mason University. "The building just completed a garage renovation and will undergo lobby and common area enhancements in early 2006," Dettleff says. Other tenants include Fairfax County's Retirement Administration Agency, and attorneys' and physicians' offices. Government contractor WR Systems also has locations in Norfolk and Richmond.
