Hinshaw will be moving out of approximately 10,000 sf at 244 Jackson St., space it has occupied since 2000. Founded in 1934, Hinshaw maintains 12 offices nationwide; the firm has had a presence in San Francisco since 1998.

The relocation provides Hinshaw with an opportunity to accommodate its expanding practice as well as greatly improve the location, quality and functionality of its offices, according to one of the law firm's brokers, John Ruskin, managing director of Studley's San Francisco office. Kaye Gregg of US Equities also represented the law firm; Shorenstein was represented in-house by VP Jim Collins.

"The space's existing build-out was extremely high-end but all of the offices were of a uniform size—an anomaly within law firm circles," says Ruskin. "However, by taking advantage of the previous tenant's investment and keeping the current configuration relatively intact, the economics at One California became even more attractive."
