Babies 'R' Us Hits Manhattan

NEW YORK CITY-Babies "R" Us opens a flagship store in Union Square. The 30,000-sf site previously housed a Toys 'R' Us.

NEW YORK CITY-Babies “R” opened its Manhattan flagship in Union Square today. The 30,000-sf, multi-level site was converted from a Toys “R” Us site.

In December , the chain announced its plans for its first store here. At that time, a spokesperson said they “had been looking for a location in Manhattan for a while.” “With more than 100,000 babies born in New York City each year, our Babies ‘R’ Us store will offer the largest selection of newborn and infant merchandise for all the families in the New York area,” said Rick Markee, president of Babies “R” Us.
