ARLILNGTON, VA-Developer Seisin LLC has broken ground on the mixed-use property known as the Townes of Shirlington. The $8-million project will feature 5,800 sf of retail space beneath 12 townhomes and above an underground parking structure.

Located at 2249 Shirlington Rd. off Interstate 395, the Townes sits in Arlington County's Nauck area, and marks the first development of the county's revitalization of the historic neighborhood. The plan will center on the neighborhood's commercial center.

"The County's Action Plan will ensure that Nauck serves both current and future residents as a highly desirable place to live, work, shop, and participate in the life of the community," says Michael R. Griffin, who is partners with Elliott L. Burka at Seisin LLC. The first residences are scheduled to reach completion next fall.
