Taco Bueno's strategic plan is to grow concentricallyfrom its core markets in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas,according to a company statement. Founded in 1967 inAbilene, TX Taco Bueno today owns and operates nearly145 locations.
The Fayetteville unit is owned and operated by Tulsa,OK-based US Beef Corp. Taco Bueno and U.S. BeefCorp. partnered 10 months ago and represents the firstof three franchise contracts since January of thisyear. U.S. Beef Corp. is one of the largest franchise organizations in the nation with more than 235 Arby's restaurants in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois and Missouri.
The franchise agreements are just one of the changesthat Taco Bueno has experienced this year. In August,the chain was acquired by Palladium Equity PartnersLLC and John Miller, former president of Romano'sMacaroni Grill took over as CEO. At that time Millersaid the chain would add 10 to 12 new corporate-owned restaurants this year, 15 in 2006 and 20 every year thereafter.
