The Maxine F. Singer Building was developed in conjunction with a two-story, 46,000-sf office building at an aggregate cost of about $42 million. The new building replaces the former 43-year-old structure that had housed the research center.

Located at the intersection of University Parkway and San Martin Drive, the Singer Building occupies a parcel of land that had been home to a parking lot. The building consists of high-tech biotechnology research laboratory space, a computing center, a library, an auditorium and meeting rooms. Clark Construction Group handled construction of the three-story building, which was designed by Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership.
