Harrah's Plans Spain's First Big Casino-Resort

CIUDAD REAL, SPAIN- The preliminary scope of the estimated $670-million project includes an 850-room luxury hotel; a 50,000-sf casino; a 3,000-seat theater; a conference center, a spa; multiple eating and drinking establishments; and a lakeside retail center.

CIUDAD REAL, SPAIN-Harrah’s Entertainment of Las Vegas signed an agreement today to develop a Caesars casino resort as part of El Reino de Don Quijote, a master-planned community near here that will include other hotels, golf courses, spas and entertainment, retail and residential development. The agreement was signed with the developer of the community, El Reino de Don Quijote de La Mancha, SA.

Ciudad Real is located about 120 miles south of Madrid, which is about 50 minutes away via high-speed rail. The preliminary project scope for the 29-acrCaesar’s complex includes an 850-room luxury hotel; a 50,000-sf casino; a 3,000-seat theater; a conference center, a spa; multiple eating and drinking establishments; and an adjacent lakeside retail center that will bear the Forum Shops moniker.
