24-Screen Theater Replaces Former Casino Site

ROSEMONT, IL-The village next to O'Hare International Airport once hoped to see a casino rise on vacant land near Bryn Mawr Avenue and the Tri-State Tollway but instead will get a 24-screen, 110,000-sf Muvico Theaters complex.

ROSEMONT, IL-Muvico Theaters will build a 24-screen, 110,000-sf theater complex on vacant land near Bryn Mawr Avenue and the Tri-State Tollway, once slated to be the site of the state’s newest casino. Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the company is building its venue in the Chicago market with the 4,600-seat Muvico Rosemont 24.

“This is just the first step in the execution of our plans for an exciting new Rosemont Entertainment District, which promises great times for business and leisure visitors and their families from morning to night,” says Rosemont Mayor Donald E. Stephens. He hopes to land other entertainment operations to the new district.
