The proposed project would be a joint venture that includes ZGF partners, Gerding Edlen Development Co. and the Goodman family, which owns the property on which the tower would rise. ZGF representatives unveiled the project late last week as part of a preliminary meeting with the city's design review commission.

A source at ZGF tells GlobeSt.com a couple of small buildings on the block are slated for demolition to make way for the project. One of the buildings to be demolished houses Kesone Thai Cuisine and sits on the southwest corner of the block. The other extends to Stark Street and will be demolished in order to create a separate entrance for the hotel on Stark. The entrance to ZGF's headquarters would be on Washington Street and the entrance to the apartments would be on 13th Avenue.

As yet, the proposed building has not been named. The tentative timelines is to complete the project by late 2008, according to the source.
