HANOVER, MD-Signing a 10-year lease agreement, the Social Security Administration has committed to approximately 144,400 sf of office/warehouse space in a 313,900-sf structure at Preston Gateway Corporate Park here. The class A site which is currently under development.

Cushman & Wakefield's Jean Wirsching represented the government entity, while Preston Partners Inc.'s Bob Clements repped property owner Preston Magellen LLC. Additional details of the SSA lease have not been disclosed.

Situated on a 48-acre parcel near the National Security Agency and just two miles from Baltimore Washington International Airport, Preston Gateway is an industrial/office campus that will ultimately feature four buildings accounting for a total of more than one million sf. SSA's building on Magellan Drive is part of the development project's first phase, which also includes a 271,600-sf corporate/distribution center facility. The remaining phases will yield a 176,000-sf structure and a 320,000-sf one.
