SAN DIEGO-Internet firm Webside Story has chosen to remain in the Seaview Corporate Center, renewing a six-year lease with a total consideration of $11.4 million. The company has occupied 61,000 sf in the building since 2000, and will continue to occupy the same space.The Seaview Corporate Center is a class A property owned by the Shidler Group. The property was refurbished in 1998 and is currently 96% leased.Although the firm’s lease is not up until 2007, Webside Stories looked into other properties before renewing with the Seaview Corporate Center. Brigham Black, vice president of leasing for the Shidler Group tells Globest.com that the deal reveals a tightening of the market, with further hikes on lease rates in the coming months.”Rental rates are on the rise,” Black says. “Options for good space are scarcer than one might think.”Seaview Corporate Center is located at 10182 Telesis Ct. and consists of two six-story office towers. Amenities include a restaurant, tennis court, pool, gym, renovated locker rooms and a shower facility.”Seaview is one of the most amenity-laden projects in the mid county submarket,” Black tells Globest.com. “It’s a highly desirable location for corporate tenants.”Black says that other firms occupying space at Seaview Corporate Center are pharmaceutical company Parexcel, Acceleris Computer Associates and SAS, a software firm.The Shidler Group represented itself in the transaction, while Webside Story was represented by David Marino of Irving Hughes.Webside Story collects data from web browsers and delivers reports about online visitor behavior to its customers on demand.
