HAMPTON, VA-The US General Services Administration leased 72,400 sf of office space for the US Air Force in a building currently under way at the Hampton Roads Research Quad. The 97,800-sf structure is scheduled for an October completion date. It will be the third of what will ultimately be a five-building, 300,000-sf office and research park.

Further details of the lease have not been disclosed. The average rate for new class A office space in the suburban Hampton Roads area is $19 per sf, according to NAI Harvey Lindsay, and the average rate for high tech/R&D space is $8 per sf. Developer Craig Davis Properties was represented by the company’s Steve Mallon and Jay Joseph of GVA Advantis, while the GSA represented the Air Force.
