At Grubb & Ellis, Cortney will be responsible for managing relationship with the firm's Rocky Mountain-based corporate clients. "Jim's varied experience as a real estate investment manager and corporate real estate executive makes him an extremely valuable addition to our Corporate Services team," says Dylan Taylor, executive vice president and regional managing director of Grubb's Corporate Services Group.
Prior to joining Grubb, Cortney spent more than six years as a senior manager for corporate real estate at Level 3. In this role, he was responsible for the acquisition, leasing and management of Level 3's real estate assets owned and leased throughout North America.
Prior to joining Level 3 in 1999, Cortney worked as a real estate analyst at GMAC Commercial Mortgage and Amstar Group, both based in Denver. For both GMAC and Amstar, he was responsible for the acquisition, leasing, asset management and disposition of commercial real estate investments throughout North America. He began his real estate career in 1989 at Aetna Realty Investors Inc. as a real estate analyst. Cortney holds bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University and an MBA from the University of Denver.
