City Issues RFQ for 11-Acre Waterfront Site

BALTIMORE-In an effort to bring a mixed-use project to Gatway South, the Baltimore Development Corp. has issued a Request for Qualifications for development teams to handle development, design and construction responsibilities. According to a 2005 BDC fact sheet on the vacant waterfront parcel, the city has configured a $19-million financing package of loans, grants and other funds. The development team chosen for the project will be responsible for arranging the bulk of the financing through private means.

Fronting the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River near I-295 and I-95 in South Baltimore, Gateway South is a transit-centric locale just south of M&T Bank Stadium. It will serve as the east anchor of the Carroll Camden community.
