Before his April 2005 promotion, Spevok was managing director of the real estate capital markets group, overseeing commercial, multifamily and real estate mezzanine lending. His promotion also gave him responsibility for the bank's Employee Stock Ownership Plans as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Among his jobs before joining LaSalle Bank in 2002 was director of national marketing with New York-based Bear Stearns, as well as chief marketing officer for commercial real estate technology firm the Realm. At Bear Stearns, Spevok was credited with a mortgage banker referral program that helped increase the firm's lending volume. Spevok also was a co-founder of the Real Estate Lenders Association, as well as a member of NAIOP and the Real Estate Board of New York.
