BURR RIDGE, IL-Nufarm Americas Inc. has signed on as the charter tenant at Mars Equities Inc.'s recently built office building at 150 Harvestor Rd. The Australia-based agricultural, turf and chemical supplier is moving from another location in this southwest suburb, crossing the county line in favor of 18,500 sf in the 110,000-sf building.

Although terms were not disclosed, NAI Hiffman is marketing space at Mars Equities' recently completed three-story building at $16.50 per sf. Nufarm Americas will operate its US headquarters in the building. "Its pending move to DuPage County will result in significant savings for the company," says Newmark Knight Frank associate director Keith Cade, adding property tax savings are $2 per sf as a result of the move from Cook County. Cade represented Nufarm Americas in negotiations with NAI Hiffman's Jim Adler.

Cade says the search for new space began last year, in anticipation of a lease expiration later this year.
