WASHINGTON, DC-Bed Bath and Beyond has joined the tenant roster at the 1.5-million-sf mixed-use destination Gallery Place. The home furnishings retailer has a 50,000-sf space.

The opening marks the company's debut in the District. Specific terms of the store's lease agreement with Western Development, which developed Gallery Place in a joint venture with Akridge for about $275 million, have not been disclosed.

Located at Seventh and H streets NW near the MCI Center, Gallery Place sits atop the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Station. Completed in 2004, the property is a live-work-play destination that features 250,000 sf of class A retail space, as well as 230,000 sf of office space, 192 residential condominiums and a 700-space underground parking facility. Other tenants in the retail segment include a 22,000-sf Clyde's restaurant, a 65,000-sf Regal Cinema and Washington Sports Club.
