"In the last two years, we and partners such as Opus Northwest have completed the sale, development or redevelopment of 323,000 sf of buildings and over 80 acres of land in Inverness," O'Meara tells GlobeSt.com. "At the same time, we have begun acquisition and planning on properties outside Inverness with a variety of partners." He says a goal is to expand to properties outside of Inverness Business Park. "In order to accomplish that goal, we have been joined by two significant real estate professionals," O'Meara says.

Charlie Davis joined the firm as a principal in 2004 and Peter Coakley joined the firm as a principal earlier this month. Davis will continue to focus on capital markets relationships as well as new business development and acquisition opportunities for the firm's various investment partnerships. Coakley will be responsible for brokerage and the company's material leasing and sales activities with both Inverness-based projects, as well those proximate to, but outside of the Inverness Business Park.

Prior to joining Inverness, Davis was the district manager for Grubb & Ellis from August 2001 to September 2004. Previously, he was with Trammell Crow Co. in Denver from 1992 to 2001, where he was in charge of business development. "Inverness Properties has a terrific track record of success in development and has a very broad set of skills to offer our clients," Davis says. "We are excited about the opportunities that we are uncovering in the market and expect to be very active in both the acquisitions area and in 'ground up' development."

For Coakley, returning to Inverness is a homecoming. Coakley, with more than 24 years of experience in commercial real estate, started his career at Inverness Properties in 1981, when O'Meara gave him his first commercial real estate job in the Denver area. He was most recently responsible for office, medical office and build-to-suit development for McWhinney Enterprises in Loveland. He, like Davis, also was the former district manager of the Grubb & Ellis office in Denver and worked at Transwestern Commercial Services, helping to build the Denver operation from 1999 through 2003. His clients included: Transwestern Investment Co., Prudential Real Estate Investor, Koll Bren Schreiber, National Cattlemen's Beef Association and the Bromley Cos. Coakley says he is "delighted to re-join my old friends and former colleagues at Inverness. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and continuing to serve a great group of clients."

Beardsley says the hires couldn't come at a better time, since Inverness is expanding beyond its namesake park in a public way. "Our reputation has been overshadowed by our long-term ownership and work at Inverness," Beardsley says. "However, we have always been involved in key projects around the region including high-rise office, large scale commercial land, residential communities and office campuses. Timing is now right to go forward using our skills and energies equally on Inverness and on a variety of new opportunities around the metropolitan area."

The other principals of the firm include Clay Boelz, who is responsible for overall operations of the firm and its financial relationships; Scott Beasley, director of the company's development activities; and Bill Woodward, who is responsible for both office and retail leasing as well as investment sales.

Inverness Business Park is designed around an 18-hole championship golf course. The park also includes the 130,000-sf Colorado Athletic Club and the 300-room luxury Inverness Hotel and Conference Center. It is home to a number of Fortune 500 companies, including: Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal, Information Handling Services, Comcast, Echo Star, Pulte Mortgage, Arrow Electronics, Time Warner, Jeppesen, Dex, Kraft Foods and Scientific Atlanta.
