Reunion Village is scheduled to open in late 2006 with a bank, liquor store, restaurant, design center and other neighborhood shops. Initial plans include a Conoco gas station, a Sonic restaurant, an automotive repair shop, a car wash and a national drug store.
"With the Northeast metro area growing so rapidly, we are reminded of Highland¹s Ranch and hope to replicate our success in Douglas County by making Reunion a world-class community," says John Kilrow, vice president of Shea Properties. "We have already put in the infrastructure to meet the demands of the tenants for years to come with a combination of retail, commercial and recreational developments."
A sister company, Shea Homes, already has built more than 2,000 homes at Reunion and expects to build about 200 additional homes each year for the next 30 years. Retail follows rooftops, so retailers are expected to have a steady market as the area grows.
Shea Properties, based in Aliso Viejo, CA has a regional office in Denver. Shea Properties currently owns and operates more than 7,300 apartments units and 5.5 million sf of commercial real estate in California and Colorado. Another 10 million sf feet of office, industrial and retail space and 4,500 apartment units are in the development pipeline in California, Colorado and Arizona.
