ATLANTA-Locally based Integral Group LLC has demolished the fabled 100-room Palamont Motor Lodge and started site work on the planned $45-million Renaissance Walk at Sweet Auburn redevelopment project. Area historians tell GlobeSt.com it is the most ambitious mixed-use reconstruction project ever attempted on legendary Auburn Avenue.

The project in the Historic Martin Luther King Jr. District will have 159 one-bedroom and two-bedroom condominium and loft homes, 27,000 sf of retail, a five-level parking deck, a small history center and a swimming pool. Condo units will start at about $250,000. Thirty-two affordable housing-designated units will be in the $100,000 range or less.
