The architectural firm of Leo A. Daly is responsible for the design of the 10-story structure, which will encompass a total of 141,100 sf. A development cost has not been released. The new hotel will feature a 5,500-sf restaurant, as well as 4,000 sf of ground-level retail.
"This project marks a key step toward completing the vision for the Courthouse area," County Board chairman Chris Zimmerman says. "The hotel will bring even more vitality to Courthouse Plaza and Clarendon Boulevard, while also blending well with the surrounding residences on Adams and 14th Streets." The hotel is expected to open its doors in 2008.
