DENVER-American Building Supply recently leased more than 133,000 sf at the ProLogis Stapleton Business Center at Interstate 70 and Havana Street. The supply company is a Sacramento-based wholesale distributor of doors, hardware and millwork products.
"This lease, one in a series of large transactions for ProLogis in Denver in recent months, underscores the strength of our industrial platform here and the continuing improvement we're seeing in the local business environment," says Wayne Barrett, ProLogis vice president. "It is one of the largest industrial leases signed so far this year in the Denver area."
Dave Baker, vice president of marketing for American Building Supply, says the company selected the space to accommodate sales growth and future expansion plans. "Our new agreement with ProLogis will enable us to meet current business demands while supporting our future needs, and will help us to maintain our position as a primary provider of doors, hardware and millwork to the home center and homebuilding markets," Baker says.
American Building Supply, founded 21 years ago, operates facilities in Sacramento, Los Angeles, Denver and Seattle. The company was represented in this transaction by Bill Thompson, Mike Camp and Jim Bolt of CB Richard Ellis Group Inc.
Stapleton Business Center is a 295-acre industrial park approved for more than 3.84 million sf of development. Companies with a presence in the park include Ford Motor Co., Whirlpool Corp., Keebler Co., Marriott Distribution, Dryer's Grand Ice Cream, North American Van Lines and Aspen Pet Products. ProLogis controls 2.7 million sf of industrial space at the park.

The company operates in a number of landmark industrial parks in the metro area, including Upland Business Park, Stapleton Business Center, Denver Business Center and ProLogis Park 70.
