Historic Saddlery Building Getting $22M Makeover

DENVER-One of the last remaining historical structures in LoDo is about to be redeveloped into a mixed-use development. The renovation of the Saddlery will give the building high-end residential units, 47,000 sf of office space and 8,500 sf of retail.

DENVER-A company called American West Lodo plans to redevelop one of the last remaining original buildings in LoDo. Jim Donahue heads the company that has the historic Colorado Saddlery building at 1500 Wynkoop St. under contract. The five-story building was originally built in the early 1900s.

The Lower Downtown District Design review board recently approved the renovation of the building, although Donahue tells GlobeSt.com he will be back in front of the board next month to work out some final details.

“There is nothing left in the market like the Colorado Saddlery building,” Donahue says. “Because of its unique nature, the construction will be the highest quality and the homes and office like anything in Downtown.”
