Sanford Airport Eyes First Hotel in $40M Venture

SANFORD, FL-Orlando Sanford International Airport, whose roots go back 50 years, is getting its first of two-planned on-site hotels. Miro Hospitality Properties LLC of Winter Springs, FL plans to break ground by year end on the first phase of the $40 million project–a five-story, 120-room hotel which is expected to be ready for occupancy in 2008. The property is valued at $10 million.

Diane Crews, vice president of administration at the airport, tells GlobeSt.com the developer and the airport are still reviewing a national brand for the hotel. “It’s been a long time coming,” Crews says. The 5.7-acre development site is west of Lake Golden on Airport Boulevard.
