315,000 SF of Office Space at M Square Wins Approval

COLLEGE PARK, MD-The Prince George’s County Planning Department has signed off on site plans for three office buildings at M Square, the University of Maryland Research Park. The 128-acre research campus will ultimately encompass 2.5 million sf of space. The office facilities total 315,000 sf and are being developed as part of a public/private partnership between the university and a team involving Corporate Office Properties Trust, Manekin LLC and NAI Michael Cos.

The campus already has a tenant base that includes the Center for Advanced Study of Language, which makes its home in a 130,000-sf building, the National Foreign Language Center, and the National Weather and Climate Prediction Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which is planning a 235,000-sf facility. While no firm commitments have been put in place for M Square One, Two and Three, there has been substantial interest among potential occupants.
