Blake Real Estate, responsible for leasing the property on behalf of the owner--listed on District real estate records as Jack I. Bender & Sons--served as the sole broker. The deal has a total value of about $70 million.
The Bender Building stands about six blocks north of the White House and seven blocks south of the popular Dupont Circle neighborhood in the city's Golden Triangle area. The landmark building was developed back in 1959 and last underwent a major redevelopment in 1995.
