SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ-Target has opened a 142,000-sf store at Hadley Shopping Center on Stelton Rd. here. The new store joins a tenant roster that includes Kohl's Department Store, a Pathmark supermarket, Regal Cinema, Marshalls and three dozen other national and local retailers and restaurants.

The Target store is part of National Realty & Development Corp.'s 242,000-sf second phase development of Hadley Shopping Center, an expansion that bulks the complex up to 558,000 sf. The 316,000-sf first phase has been open since 1984, but has been substantially redeveloped by NRDC in recent years.

The opening marks the third Target store development for the Purchase, NY-based NRDC--the other two are both in Connecticut. The expansion of Hadley Shopping Center also makes it the largest of NRDC's properties in New Jersey, the most recent of which include the construction of a 212,000-sf Wal-Mart Supercenter in Phillipsburg and the redevelopment of the 410,000-sf Town Square Plaza in Somerdale.
