New Store Continues SoCal Expansion for Walgreens

GARDEN GROVE, CA-Evergreen Development of Phoenix completes a new store here that is part of the drug store chain's Southern California expansion and represents the 200th store that the Phoenix developer has built for the Deerfield, IL-based drug chain.

GARDEN GROVE, CA-Evergreen Development of Phoenix has completed its 200th store for the Deerfield, IL-based Walgreens drug chain, a 14,820-sf store at 10840 W. Katella Ave. Walgreens is leasing the site from Allied Retail Partners of Newport Beach.

The new Garden Grove location part of Walgreens’ plan to open 475 stores in 2006, notes Evergreen principal Bruce Pomeroy. Evergreen is a developer of specialty, neighborhood and community shopping centers and freestanding retail stores in the Western US.
