BALTIMORE-The Fresh Market, a family-owned grocery store, has preleased 20,000 sf at Quarry Lake at Greenspring, the 230-acre mixed-use community that is currently under development. Obrecht Properties LLC broke ground last year and expects to begin work on the 115,000-sf retail segment—to be known as the Shops at Quarry Lake--in May. That portion of the project is expected to be wrapped up in April of 2007.
H&R Retail Inc.'s Susan Anderson and David Ward represented Obrecht, while Paraclete Realty's Charlie Phelps represented Fresh Market. Further details of which are unavailable.
The Fresh Market is not the first retailer to sign on. Local businesses such as Quarry Wine & Spirits and Lee Cleaners have spoken for nearly 5,000 sf of space, and other deals are presently in the works with restaurants and clothing stores and a national drugstore chain. "Finding the right grocery store to anchor the Shops was a critical piece to the success of the project," stated Thomas F. Obrecht, president of Obrecht Properties LLC. The entire Quarry Lake property ultimately will feature 225,000 sf of office space and nearly 600 residential units.
