Kimball Hill Acquires New HQ in Hometown

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL-A 48,000-sf building on 6.8 acres at 2900 Golf Rd., formerly owned by Kohler Co., goes to the national homebuilder for $5.9 million. It's a short move from its current base.

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL-Homebuilder Kimball Hill is moving to a larger home for its corporate headquarters, not far from its roots. The company has bought Kohler Co.’s two-story, 48,000-sf building on 6.8 acres at 2900 Golf Rd. for $5.9 million, according to property records, a half-mile from its current base at 5999 New Wilke Rd.

“Because of my family’s history, it was important to me that we keep our corporate headquarters in Rolling Meadows, the city my father built,” says chairman David K. Hill. The northwest suburb with a population of 24,600 was spawned by the need for housing for returning servicemen in the early days of the Baby Boom. Kimball Hill began building homes on 500 acres in Rolling Meadows.
