DENVER-MacKenzie House LLC, based locally, has started construction on the $17-million, 29-unit 24 Walnut townhomes near Coors Field. The project includes 29, three-story urban townhomes in the historic Ballpark District.
The units at 24th and Walnut streets are priced from the mid $400,000s to the high $700,000s. They are scheduled to open in early 2007. The two- and three-bedroom units range in size from 1,425 sf to 2,340 sf. Thus far, 17 of the units have been reserved.
The units were designed by JG Johnson Architects. Each unit will have a rooftop deck; attached garages; staircases with light shafts penetrating all three levels of living space; at least two walls of large windows; and elevators. Don MacKenzie, who heads his namesake company, notes that most of the three-story townhomes in Downtown Denver with rooftop decks are priced at $1 million or more.
