The church sought the county's approval to develop a larger facility for its growing congregation of 4,000. To accommodate all members, the church holds six different services at its current 23,000-sf building in Vienna, which was designed to hold only 500.

Korean Central Presbyterian's plans include the construction of two buildings. The first will be a 175,000-sf structure with a 2,000-seat sanctuary and 500-seat chapel, offices, a 2,000-sf rectory, a nursery school and a K-2 elementary school for 100 students. The second building will be 30,000 sf in size and will feature additional office and classroom space and a 150-child daycare center. The property will also offer a gym.

A development cost for the project has not been released. The church's current 23,000-sf home in Vienna cost $1.6 million to develop 20 years ago, according to a document by WLAPC Architects, which designed the facility.
