Jameson Development Set to Start Mixed-Use Tower

VANCOUVER, BC-Construction will break ground this summer for Jameson House, a 37-story mixed-use tower being developed in the Heritage District here by locally based Jameson Development Corp. The project at 838 West Hastings St. will include the restoration of the 1921 Ceperley Rounsfell Building and the retention of the facade of the Royal Financial Building. Project completion is scheduled for fall 2009.

Jameson House will have retail and restaurants on the bottom three floors topped by eight floors (77,000 sf) of office space and 25 floors of for-sale residential units. Homeowner amenities will include 24-hour concierge service and a touch-screen panel for central home control of the entertainment, lighting, heating and security system in the home.

Jameson Development Corp. first submitted the project to the Vancouver Planning Department in October 2004. City officials approved the project in July 2005. Designed to a LEED Gold standard, the building will generate its own power and have a water recycling system. In addition to a co-generation plant powered by bio-diesel, photovoltaic cells will be employed on the south facade.
