BOCA RATON, FL-Woolbright Development has named Erick Collazo, a long-time Mills Corp. executive, director of development. Arlington, VA-based Mills, which is under investigation by the SEC for accounting flaws, is scaling back operations in Florida and elsewhere and re-mortgaging Sawgrass Mills and other significant assets. Meanwhile, locally based Woolbright is rapidly expanding throughout Florida.

Over the past 15 years, Collazo held several top posts with Mills, most recently as group VP of the domestic Southern region where he was responsible for the redevelopment of 14 Mills properties. Prior to that, he directed the company's $380-million Xanadu in Madrid, and, as VP and development director was also responsible for a $250-million mall project in Atlanta.

At Woolbright, he will oversee the development of more than two million sf of mixed-use space, according to Duane Stiller, the company's founder and president. Calling Collazo "a highly experienced retail real estate professional," Stiller says in a statement, "[he] will be instrumental in leading our development plans as we continue to build our portfolio of shopping centers."
