WINFIELD, IL-Kimball Hill Homes has closed on a 28-acre site next to the Winfield Mound Forest Preserve for $7.2 million, where it plans to build 191 townhouses and 64 condominiums. Units, which will range from 975 sf to 2,062 sf, will be priced from about $250,000 to $350,000.
Kimball Hill Suburban Centers hopes to start this spring on the first phase of the Residences of Shelburne Farms, which will include 70 townhouses and 32 condominiums slated for delivery next year. Kimball Hill Suburban Centers president William Purcell says the area already offers retail services as well as a location near a Metra commuter rail station and the East-West Tollway.
The Rolling Meadows-based homebuilder has projects in the works in the suburbs, as well as California, Florida, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin. Kimball Hill Homes bought the property here from Highlake Partners.
