ROMEOVILLE, IL-Atkins Nutritionals Inc. has signed a 124,800-sf lease at Duke Realty Corp.'s Crossroads 2 at 1255 Schmidt Rd., filling the remaining space in the 460,800-sf building. Hub One Logistics occupies the other 336,000 sf at the warehouse and distribution building.

The privately held company is relocating distribution operations from Atlanta. "Our new home at Duke's Crossroads Business Park is more centrally and efficiently located within our distribution supply chain," says Atkins Nutritionals vice president of operations and customer support Stephen Galinski.

Although terms were not disclosed, the space was recently on the market at $3.25 per sf. Jason West and Sean Henrick of Trammell Crow Co. assisted Duke Realty Corp. senior vice president Andy James in negotiations with Andy Sexson of Colliers, Bennett & Kahnweiler and Brian Fogelberg of CB Richard Ellis' Minneapolis office, who represented the maker of Atkins Advantage nutrition foods products.

Vacancy with available sublease space is 8.9% in the northern end of the I-55 Corridor, according to a recent market report by Transwestern Commercial Services and Delta Associates, compared to 17% on the southern end.
