RealShare EXCLUSIVE: 1031 Exchange Plays Central Role

NEW YORK CITY-The 1031 exchange environment has experienced quite an evolution over the years. More investors have become acquainted with the tax-deferred exchange and exhibit a willingness to reach out of their comfort zone, even testing the tenant-in-common exchange waters. The developing 1031 market will be among the many topics up for discussion at tomorrow’s RealShare Net Lease conference at the Westin New York at Times Square.

A group of experts will examine that environment in a presentation subtitled “Swap Till You Drop.” Moderated by Lou Weller of Deloitte Tax LLP, the panel will feature the Boulder Group’s Randy Blankstein; Gary Bringhurst of FOR 1031 LLC; Sterling Champ of CB Richard Ellis’s Net Lease Property Group; Calkain’s Jonathan Hipp and Pamela Michaels of Asset Preservation Inc. They will explore the influence of TIC deals, rising interest rates and increasing property values. They will examine marketplace trends and how any tax rulings could affect future transactions. A session later in the day will tackle the subject of how/if TIC transactions are offering growing competition.
