During the meeting, city representatives and residents voicedtheir concerns about the traffic and crime the project could bringto the Anne Arundel County town, as well as potential damage to theenvironment. The chain's representatives reiterated their proposalto improve roads to accommodate the increase in vehicletraffic.
Wal-Mart officials declined to offer more details on theproject, which would occupy a 20-acre parcel on Route 3 nearCronson Boulevard. Wal-Mart has just applied for a building permit.In the meantime, the council has vowed to continue to contest theendeavor. The store would be the fifth Wal-Mart locale in thecounty.
