NEW YORK CITY-Now that an agreement has been reached on the redevelopment process at the World Trade Center site, developer Larry A. Silverstein has commissioned architects to design Towers 3 and 4. Design work will begin immediately with construction scheduled to begin next year and they should be completed by 2012.

Richard Rogers has been named to design the two-million-sf 175 Greenwich St. (Tower 3). Fumihiko Maki of Japan will design the 1.8-million-sf 150 Greenwich St. (Tower 4).The 175 Greenwich building will be bounded by Dey Street to the north, Cortlandt Street to the south, Church Street to the east, and a re-introduced Greenwich Street to the west. The 150 Greenwich building will be bounded by Cortlandt Street to the north, Liberty Street to the south, Church Street to the east, and a re-introduced Greenwich Street to the west. Both will accommodate approximately five floors of retail space at and above street level and as part of an underground concourse linking to the WTC Transportation Hub.
