GSA Will Sell Middle River Station

BALTIMORE-The General Service Administration is putting a 1.9-million-sf up for sale at an online auction. Baltimore County could provide incentives and assistance with financing for the redevelopment of this historic facility.

BALTIMORE-Middle River Station, an historic 1.9-million-sf facility, will be put up to bid on June 28 by the General Services Administration. Originally the 50-acre property was an aircraft manufacturing plant during World War II.

County and federal officials hope to see it redeveloped into a mixed-use project emphasizing its historic origins. The GSA warehouse is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places and is already on Maryland Historical Trust’s Inventory of Historic Properties. Baltimore County has said it would work with developers to get permits, financing, tax incentives, and possibly be included in the North Point Enterprise Zone.
