The AREP subsidiary is American Casino & Entertainment Properties LLC. American owns and operates the Stratosphere hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Other Las Vegas assets include the Arizona Charlie's Decatur and Arizona Charlie's Boulder neighborhood casinos.
The City of Laughlin is located on the Colorado River, about 100 miles south of Las Vegas. AREP was scheduled to take over the property today. The company is reportedly planning significant upgrades to the property. An AREP spokesperson could not be reached Thursday evening for comment.
The Flamingo is the largest hotel in Laughlin. It features two 18-story towers, a 57,000-sf casino, seven restaurants, 35,000 sf of meeting space and a 3,000-seat amphitheater. The Atlantic City land sits between the Sands Hotel and Casino, which also is owned by an AREP subsidiary, and the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
