ScheinMedia Buys Two Magazines

KINGSTON, NY-ScheinMedia, which was formed by former Real Estate Media president and CEO Jonathan Schein, acquires two magazines here from Luminary Publishing.

ScheinMedia acquired UpstateHouse and MetroHouse. Financial details of the transation were not disclosed.

Schein announced his departure from Real Estate Media, parent company of Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com, on May 3. At that time he said the new firm would "target acquisitions in a variety of non-urban consumer publications." He also noted that investors were "already in place." Michael G. Desiato was named group publisher and editorial director for REM after Schein's departure.
