Corcoran Heads C&W's Global Valuation

NEW YORK CITY-Cushman & Wakefield has tapped Brian Corcoran to serve as global head of valuation services. The 24-year C&W veteran will have overall responsibility for the firm’s worldwide valuation activities. “This is in response to client trends,” Corcoran tells GlobeSt.com. Previously, the firm’s 400 appraisers–including 105 MAIs, operating in 99 offices in 57 countries–worked as separate units. “Now we’re all part of one team.” With clients doing business all over the world, they “can now have one single point of contact.”

Corcoran, who is based here, will also focus on growing the practice globally, and integrating global client management and business development efforts. He envisions this effort taking two to three years to come together with technology acting as a bridge. “We’ve been working on an appraisal builder tool that will bring technology to our global affiliates.”

Achieving a global uniform approach to the valuation practice will also be a focus. Efforts are under way to establish with standardizing such issues as tax differences. “We need to get a standardized approach, the whole industry. We want to be in lockstep with that.”
