The plan is to create an urban residential district with high-end shops, gourmet restaurants and unique pedestrian environments. The design team for the project includes Studio Daniel Libeskind, Murphy/Jahn Architects, Rockwell Group, Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, Rafael Viñoly Architects, KPF Architects and Jahn Architects.

Libeskind will design the retail district. The landmark hotel-casino is being designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects. The 1,543-room condo-hotel component is being designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects. Another 810 loft-like residences will be designed by Jahn Architects. The 215-unit Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Residences is being designed by designed by KPF Architects. The Lifestyle Hotel and Residences will be designed by Foster and Partners.

MGM Mirage is pursuing the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for the project. To that end, the 18-million-square foot, multi-use project plans to utilize reclaimed water and on-site power generation.
