It is an assignment of a lease between RCPI Landmark Properties LLC and Ropes & Gray LLP and will run until 2012. The firm will have space on the 9th, 10th and 11th floors of the International Building. Additional leasing details were not revealed, but space in the site is advertised from $69 to $90 per sf. Other tenants at the site include Bessemer Securities, Capital Guardian Trust and Victory Capital.
The firm's need for space was the impetus for the move, according to Paul Eyre, managing partner of Baker Hostetler's New York office. "In the past year alone, we've brought on 17 new attorneys adding depth to an already strong full-service practice in New York." The firm currently has close to 40 attorneys in the entire 16th floor and a portion of the 27th floor of 666 Fifth Ave.
Jacqueline A. Weiss, a real estate partner in Baker Hostetler's New York office, along with associate Faige P. Klein, acted as counsel for Baker Hostetler. John P. Maher and Paul Myers of CB Richard Ellis provided brokerage services for Baker Hostetler. Ropes & Gray was represented by partner Larry M. Loeb and associates Russ Rabinovich and Soyoung Lee of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel. Moshe Sukenik of Newmark Knight Frank provided brokerage services for Ropes & Gray. The building is managed by Tishman.
