BOSTON-The Boston Housing Authority has approved six projects that will add a total of 300 residential units to the city’s housing stock in South Boston, West Roxbury, Dorchester and Bay Village. The largest of the projects–a $47-million mixed use development which will break ground in December in the Fort Point Channel neighborhood–will create 86 residential units and eight living and work spaces for artists at 316-322 Summer St. The project, which is being developed by W2005BWH II Reality LLC, will also add 15,500 sf of retail and commercial space.

A month after that project begins, developer 184 West Second Street LLC will begin rehabilitating the Signal Building at 154 West Second St. and 171 West First St. in South Boston. The effort will turn the property into 75 condominium units at a cost of $17 million.
