121-Acre Pocono Tract Hits Sales Block

JIM THORPE, PA-Hickory Run Inc. developed a golf course and clubhouse on the property to be run by the owner's son. The son backed out, and the owner is asking $3 million for the land.

JIM THORPE, PA-Hickory Run Inc., a company headed by an unidentified Philadelphia businessman, has put a 121-acre parcel along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the Pocono Mountains up for sale. The owner began developing the property and has completed a golf course, driving range and 6,800-sf clubhouse on the land.

“He intended for the property to be run by his son,” Matthew Bordwin, SVP and an owner of Great Neck, NY-based Keen Realty LLC, tells GlobeSt.com. “But his son decided to pursue another career direction, so the owner has retained us to dispose of the property.” The asking price, Bordwin says, is $3 million, which translates to approximately $25,000 an acre.
