$2 Billion Project Moves Forward in Prince George's County

UPPER MARLBORO, MD-The $2 billion development is one of the largest on the East Coast.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD-Prince George’s County $2 billion National Harbor project, 350-acre, waterfront mixed-use development project to open in 2008, is moving forward again after a dispute developed among the County Council and the lead developer, Nashville-based Gaylord Entertainment over minority contracting.

A spokesperson for the Prince George’s County Executive office tells GlobeSt.com that the project originally called for 20% minority and local business participation with a $9 million penalty. The Council wanted to amend that number. This week the participants agreed to change the requirements to 15% minority and a $21 million penalty.
