MRP Counts $350M of Projects in Pipeline

CHEVY CHASE, MD-The firm has just begun construction on its first project, a 250,00-sf, 14-story office building in Old Town Alexandria.

CHEVY CHASE, MD-MRP Realty, a development firm founded by Bob Murphy, Fred Rothmeijer, and Ryan Wade–three former Trammell Crow executives–has kept a low profile since it opened its doors here last July. That, though, is beginning to change as it commences construction on its first project, an office tower in the Carlyle section of Old Town Alexandria, VA.

Also, according to MRP managing principal Bob Murphy, the firm has at least two other projects in the pipeline–in northern Virginia and Downtown Washington, DC–that are worth $350 million all together.

One is a mixed-use project in Loudoun County, VA, encompassing 150,000 sf of retail and hotel and 500,000 sf of office. MRP Realty has purchased 70% of the land thus far, Murphy says. He expects to announce more details about the $100-million project in September.
