SAN FRANCISCO-Holliday Fenoglio Fowler says it will open a San Francisco office by the end of September. An HFF operating committee memo decribes the capital intermediary's imminent Northern California presence as a "major goal" that has been in the works for years.
The office will have two managing directors, Bruce Ganong, most recently with Cohen Financial, and Peter Smyslowski, a top producer from HFF's Los Angeles office. Their experience lies in placing primary debt and joint venture equity. Also moving to the San Francisco office from Los Angeles will be senior analyst Devin Saylor.
HFF San Francisco will be up and operational as early as August 15, "if we can find space to accommodate us that quickly," states the memo. "We hope to add several producers and support in San Francisco in the near term, possibly tripling the size of the new office within the coming year."
The company has never had an office on the West Coast, north of the Los Angeles area. The goal is for the San Francisco branch to eventually be of the largest of Holliday's 20 locations.
